About Grant

My name is Grant, I run the Marine Dynamics Academy Guide Training aspect of Marine Dynamics, am passionate about environmental interpretation and people development.

What is your background?

I have a Master’s Degree in Psychology and is a qualified National nature and culture guide specialised in dangerous animal guiding, birding, Palaeo-anthropology and Marine life.   Grant worked as a guide and lodge manager in several “Big 5”game reserves bordering the Kruger National Park for 12 years and was then a director of the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) for 17 years

I was the chairman of the Standards Generating Body (SGB) who developed the current guiding qualifications in South Africa.  I also developed the curriculum and a host of guide training manuals, workbooks, assessment tools and strategies for guide training  for FGASA.
