My name is Birna and I come from Iceland. I have a BSc degree in General Biology from University of Iceland and am currently working towards a MSc degree in Environmental Management through a Long Distance Programme from University of London. My conservation work includes working for the Environment Agency of Iceland at Snæfellsjökull National Park as a ranger, adviser and deputy manager and as a project manager for the West Iceland Nature Research Center. I also work on beach cleaning projects with NGO´s Blái herinn (the Blue army) and Landvernd (Icelandic Environmental Association). I have always been fascinated with the ocean and I hope my internship at Marine Dynamics will further my skills and knowledge and help my move into the field of marine conservation and education.
