About Gray

My name is Gray Carlson and I am 22 years old, originally from Virginia but grew up in Texas. I initially came to Gansbaai in 2017 as part of the volunteer program and returned again last June.

I am currently finishing up my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Richmond, Virginia. Although I am passionate about helping patients in the clinical setting, I am also interested in the research aspect of the nursing and medical field. I am specifically intrigued by how the human disease process relates to the animal disease process, and how research on these subjects can benefit both parties.

I am excited to join the team as an intern, and look forward to broadening my skills and knowledge on marine research.
