About Yaëlle

Growing up in Switzerland, I had the chance to learn and see many plants, and animals, but with the lack of sea, I never had the chance to see marine wildlife where I lived. Fortunately, I got to travel many times and found love in the sea everywhere I went, whether by surfing, scuba diving, or just by being near it. I remember being on an excursion boat to see dolphins in the wild on a sunset cruise and telling myself if only I could be those people working there and having the chance to experience such things every day. That was when I realized that marine biology would be perfect for me.I love to travel and try to travel every year to a different place. I studied marine biology for my freshman year in Hawaii, at UHHilo. This year I got accepted at Plymouth to continue my studies in marine biology. The goal would be to discover more about England and its biodiversity in marine environments. Hopefully, I will be able to see harbour porpoises, bottlenose dolphins or even blue sharks. I believe that skills and knowledge come from experiences, and having the chance to discover colder water environments is a great opportunity for me.

Marine Dynamics is a great opportunity for me as I get to learn many skills, but it also gives me an idea of what my future could look like, and what marine biology is really about.
